Securing Battlefield Computing and Communications

Mixing these channels on shared compute platforms constrained by space, weight, and power (SWaP) increases complexity and forces a new level of rigor to robustly separate secure channels. This seminar details how Wind River’s VxWorks and Linux platforms enable the creation of powerful single-level secure (SLS) and multilevel secure (MLS) systems with commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) platforms qualified against Common Criteria and Federal Information Processing Standards Publications (FIPS) standards.

In addition, it covers the integration of third-party control algorithm designs and communications strategies into these next-generation platforms.

As the demands for creating formal test strategies mapped against stringent safety, security, quality, and performance requirements increase for next-generation systems, the demand for managing an ever growing suite of testing systems and artifacts also increases. These systems can no longer be managed using ad hoc and simple file-based test management strategies; a commercial-grade test management environment needs to be deployed to ensure that platforms are tested completely and reliably and that re-test can be performed efficiently. This seminar describes the use of a next-generation commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) test management environment that enables the creation and deployment of complex aerospace and defense solutions.
